Christchurch Boys High sport

This week we have been taught by CBHS how to play some sports. They've taught us Soccer, Basketball, Touch and Hockey so far I've done two sessions of touch. Its really fun because they play warm up games and then they teach us rules and then we get to play the sport. Yesterday we played touch Harry, Sammy, Sam H, Alex, Henry and Me playing Megan, C.C., Heejun and the instructors. We've had heaps of fun.

Bullying

This week (week 4, term 3) we have been talking about bully's. We have had sessions on bullying we recently have been doing a bully survey so people at our school can feel safer as the bully's are being dealt with. Just this morning we talked about how it makes you feel if you are being bullied and how bad it is just to watch them getting bullied and not helping them. My opinion is its sickening watch them and not helping and when people run off crying its sad. Some kids in our class feel that they're going to be a bit embarrassed when they say something and scared that others will laugh. I still cant believe that bullying is happening at Fendalton.

Sams holiday poem

Its night, silent, scary, like a soul.
Suddenly a small sound comes from a small hole.
Sam snores soundly as he sleeps.
Seven rats sneak and creeps.

Team triathlon

It was the 25.02.09 and was a beautiful day for a triathlon for F.O.S. The Runners, Bikers and Swimmers gathered at the netball courts as Mr. N was giving a long speech about the safety of everyone then he said, “runners follow me”.I said bye to Will as he was our runner. I started getting ready. Helmet sticker. Check. Number on arm. Check. Brakes working. Check.I said bye to Sarah as she went into the pool area. Now I was all alone except for the other competitors. After a while it was Sarah, Will and my heat. When Sarah came out of the pool only one person was ahead of her. I shouted “OVER HERE” and she ran over to me tagged me and I started to go hard. As I came onto the field everyone shouted go Sam that’s when the passing started. I passed Girls and Boys I came to Jeffery’s park onto the road passed the hall and back onto the field. I saw Alex Harford behind me I almost was at the change then my gut dropped Alex had passed me I tagged Will and shouted “Go Will”.In the end we came second.

Communicator

Being a Communicator means giving positive ideas

A Communicator thinks outside the box

A communicator listens to others and gives ideas when its their turn

A Communicator talks for hours and hours on the phone

A Communicator says … good idea! ... or … I have an idea

A Communicator loves speeches

That’s being a Communicator

              Terrifying Tree climbing

I was terrified as I looked up a tree. Today may be the last day I see light. This tree was the tree I was climbing later that day yep it was the second day at activity Hanmer camp the 3rd of March and group A was tree climbing.

I was extremely nervous as I walked over to the trees. At the start we did some awesome warm ups. One was really cool we ran as fast as we could screaming as loud as we could. When we ran out of breathe we stopped. Then we started putting on the tight harnesses and the squishy helmets. We were instructed with a long speech.

I was one of first to climb. I climbed up the ladder I grabbed the first peg and stood on a branch I climbed further and further up. A couple of times I thought of giving up but a small tiny voice at the back of my head said, “don’t give up you can do it.” As I came to the end of the pegs I tried to climb further but I couldn’t.

I peered down cautiously. People looked like tiny bugs encouraging me on and the houses looked like like Lego blocks. I was terrified as the wind whipped my hair; the smell of crusty bark in the air. I shouted that I wanted to come down. They lowered me down as slow as a slug. As I was quickly unclipped I looked up in awe at how far I climbed. As Will was being clipped in I said to him “its fun and scary” and he set off.

Then I climbed two other massive trees and then we went to Lego land a game where you have to stack blocks as fast as you can.

Finally we took off our harnesses and took off our helmets Next I found out that we were doing mountain biking.

This was going to be a long camp!`
